Charlotte’s Story of Safety and Healing

The Joy of Giving and Church Support

Because of the husband/father’s untreated mental illness, Charlotte and her children were living in fear. Desperate for help, she reached out to the church, which in turn contacted LINC MoCo. LINC mobilized legal support through Good Samaritan Advocates and the Family Justice Center. A plan was quickly implemented to move the family to a safe haven with coordinated emotional support, prayer, and counseling, through Charlotte’s church and Love INC partners. These practical steps to enhance their safety, along with added resources gave Charlotte and her family a chance to heal.

Inspired by this act of service, one church’s men’s ministry decided to expand its outreach, forming a dedicated team to assist other neighbors in need throughout Montgomery County.

“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” – 1 Peter 4:10

Charlotte’s story highlights the joy of giving and the profound impact of the Bride of Christ’s ability to transform lives through practical acts of kindness. The collaboration of church partners, community nonprofits, and local government not only provided immediate relief but also sparked a movement to help others facing similar challenges in the future. Through our collective efforts, we continue to serve our neighbors with compassion and love, In the Name of Christ.
